Wednesday November 4-8
About a month ago we had some of our best friends over for dinner. Jordan and Mandy Walker, we were having a grand ol' time catching up on each others lives. Jordan is in the process of applying for medical school and mentioned that he had an interview in Kirksville, Missouri. Jamey of course perked up [He served his mission in Kansas and Missouri] and we started to tell Jordan about all the church history sites that he needed to see while he was there. Then Jamey said, "I better just come with you to be a personal tour guide." Mandy and I weren't sitting home from this adventure so, we looked up flights and booked that night. It was such a fun spur of the moment trip. Scarlett and Bo got to join us but our boys stayed home. Bowen was only a MONTH old. Mandy was superwoman to come on a trip with her 1st baby being so young!
Day 1
Flying out
These two really do melt my heart. We felt totally on vacation with just one child.
First stop, straight to Liberty Jail. This is now our third time being back to Jamey's mission but everything is so amazing to see and there is always such a strong spirit of the early saints here. We love it!

We really hit the peak of fall there. Every tree was beautiful.
Day 2
It took us a little bit to get moving but Jamey and I went exploring for a bit in the morning.
Gosh I love him! Always making me giggle.
First stop of the day- Independence Visitor Center

We stayed with a darling couple and they made us dinner.. So sweet of them.
Day 3
We got up bright and early and headed to Kirksville, Missouri for Jordan's interview. It was a very small town so we were finding things to keep ourselves busy. We found a pretty lake.
Jamey got a work out in, carrying me around.
After his interview we headed to Haun's Mill.
The little town that this monument is in is completely abandoned. It was actually a little creepy.

Day 4
We woke up in Gallatin and started off catching a opossum, Jordan was a bit nervous so he was hanging out on the tramp!

Your probably wondering what in the world am I doing.. I was too when Jamey sent me this exact pose of himself when he was on his mission. HA! But... he got to have morning studies at Adam-ondi-ahman.. if that isn't dreamy as a missionary I don't know what is? He served in this area for his firsts 6 months.

Day 5
Home bound, after waking up SOOO early to catch a flight only to find out that one of the flight attendants "slept in" and delayed our flight.. disaster. When 3/4 of the flight were making connecting flights it was a total NIGHTMARE. Long story short we got some other flights figured out and made it home to our boys around 1:00 pm.
She was an angel traveler.
