White Rock Lake

Saturday October 7th
Saturday's=Adventure Day!!
Bikes loaded up in the back ready for a ride around White Rock Lake in Dallas. 9 Mile loop, we packed our lunch and left right after breakfast!
Overcast, 80 degree weather- such a perfect day for a good bike ride.
We kinda felt like we were somewhere else, lots of docks and boats and bridges. So beautiful!!
These two killed it on their bikes

 Classic- potty break!

 Sailboats

Keeping up with our boys was legit

We stopped under this tree for a while to throw rocks in.
The whole ride was perfect, we had the lake on one side and GORGEOUS homes on the other side. I mean total mansions on amazing Texas land! I was drooling the whole time, this one had my name on it, French Modern.
That night Jamey and I headed out for date night to Fort Worth for a celebratory work dinner. It was such a lovely evening with just the two of us.

We ate here, it was beyond DIVINE, we took full advantage of not having kids and really enjoyed dining for two full hours.

My mind was blown with this toad in the hole! An egg in the middle of of buttery bread. OH MY GOODNESS!

Girlfriend's Foot

Wednesday October 4th
We had just gotten back from dinner celebrating Wellington and we started to play outside, the weather was so perfect! I was sitting on a chair on the driveway and all the kids were riding bikes and having a great time. Jamey had just left to go to Young Men's when Wellington come out of the garage holding a 25 pound weight. [One of Jamey's, he uses them occasionally for some curls.] Wells loves to do his "curls for the girls"
All the sudden I hear the second one hit the floor in the garage.. I jumped up immediately knowing that it was Scarlett, I then heard the biggest scream/cry. I picked her up and held her tight. I didn't even want to look to see the damage but then I saw her foot that was puffed up huge. I called Jamey and dropped off the boys at the church- I knew something was broken and she needed a Dr.
-Her poor foot-
This was the joke, after she stopped crying in the car she was happy go lucky! Just wooing the whole staff at the Dr's office with how cute she is!

She got an X-ray and they found a tiny hairline fracture at the bottom of her fourth toe.
They put her in this adorable boot!
Seriously cutest boot EVER!
She kept the boot on the next day but at then end of the day when I took it off to put her in the tub she told me that she could walk and that she was all done with the boot.
Then she started to skip around!?!?! WHAT? Clearly she is totally fine! It is super black and blue but doesn't seem to bother her.

Top Cheetah

Friday September 29th
Wellington concluded his first 6 weeks of Kindergarten! He came home with this new Cheetah Tail [Park Glen Cheetah's]
He told me he got it today at the "Reach Rally" I thought, that's really fun so I dug in a little more..
asking him lots of questions.. "Were you the only one to get one of those? Did all your classmates get this certificate?"
He kept saying "No Mom, it was just me"
That's when I emailed his teacher to get all the details and right away she called me telling me that this is a HUGE deal..
All the Kindergarten teachers got together and each submitted a name of a student that has gone above and beyond these first six weeks, Wellington is who they picked, out of 105 Kindergartners!
Our hearts could burst we are so proud of him! His sweet teacher went on and on for 20 minutes telling me how "exceptional" our son is. He is her right hand boy at school and he is always so concerned for everyone's feeling. She told me he has a heart of GOLD! We couldn't agree more.
He is thoughtful and tender and one amazing boy!
The following Wednesday we went to his favorite restaurant with our family to celebrate him
Slim Chickens
 chicken and waffles

Chicken and ranch is Andrews favorite, HA!

Conference Weekend October 2017

Saturday September 30th started LDS General Conference Weekend, one of my favorite times. We had a great weekend together as a family.
We found Andrew a bigger bike at a garage sale that he was so excited about.
I put a lot of effort into making the kids "conference bags" and it actually entertained them pretty well. Jamey and I were finally able to listen to a few talks instead of a few words. HA!
 Cinnamon Rolls
I was defiantly home sick for my family, fall weather, and SLC in general, so I kept busy with making LOTS of food!
 Sunday October 1st- Conference Bingo
In between sessions we went on a field trip to down town Fort Worth to get some fresh air.

 Cheetah Wells
Jamey has a work conference down town this week so he had to set up his booth in the convention center, we enjoye tagging along.

So many amazing talks, it blows my mind how inspired these wonderful men and women are to tell us exactly what we need to hear in these latter days! I'm so grateful to be a member of this church and to feel the peace and love that I do from my Savior Jesus Christ!

September Randoms

September 2017
September was a really great month for us.
I started off with doing a #fallbackintoshape fitness challenge and it was awesome! I picked 2 goals to focus on for the month of September:
1: No eating after 7:00 pm
2: Meal Planning/ Budgeting
I loved doing this challenge, I had to pick a partner and we had to check in with each other, I should always have to report to someone.. I actually stuck with my goals! Meal planning has CHANGED MY LIFE! Honestly, it makes life so much easier to know what I am having for dinner in advance.
This grilled lime salmon with avocado-mango salsa and coconut rice was seriously AMAZING!

This book just changed my life. Raising kids is not for the weak, it's hard but fueling up their love tanks makes so much sense to me. Also, Overdrive is the library's free app and I have been listening to audio books. It's fantastic!
Paying a ticket with this cheeser! She is so different than my boys, she just sits by me and hangs out... my boys would be running around like crazy.
We are finally getting to play outside again.. summer was the worst!! But being outside brings on all the scrapes and bruises.
Sunday September 10th
Homemade Cafe Rio for the neighbors! It took 45 minutes to pull this pork apart but well worth it!
The kids eating outside and having so much fun!

Monday September 11th- FHE
The best summer dessert!
PEACHES AND ICE CREAM

How lucky am I?

Homemade Raspberry Jam
Garage sale score- Brand new play-doh

In Texas, High School's have homecoming parades.. handing out more candy than Halloween!
Summer is rough on Jamey.. It's just too hot for him to cope/wear clothes!

We finally got a new roof, we didn't think we had a lot of damage from the Tornado we had in the spring but lately we have had some serious leaking when it rains.
Wellington finally spending his cheetah bucks, he has worked really hard to earn all of these!

Jamey taking out some of our bushes.. two hours later he got the job done.

We had dinner at our friends house, Avery and Scarlett loved the pumpkin dessert.
Scarlett had an accident so we had to strip her down.

My little Texas boy
Buddy the elf trying to fit in the swing
Jamey really couldn't figure out her romper.. he put it on sideways and that cheek was hanging out the rest of the night. We couldn't get enough!

 September 29th
We finally went to the REAL FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS for date night! It was everything we hoped for and more, the stadium was so large!
We had dinner at Sushi Sam's in Southlake then we went to the game.
Southlake vs. Flower Mound

The half-time show was bigger than the game! Full marching band, dancers, props, flags, the whole shebang. Each team had 13 minutes on the clock for their half time show.

Texas and their pride- it is serious around these parts, that flag is waved everywhere!
Clearly we felt like we were back in high school for the night! HA!
